Mujib Borsho is a memorable year in the history of Bangladesh. The Government of Bangladesh declared the period from March 17, 2020 to March 17, 2021 as Mujib Borshi to celebrate the birth centenary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. The main reason for declaring this period as Mujib Borsho is to highlight the context of the independence of Bangladesh to the young generation. This great leader played a vital role in the independence war of Bangladesh. He was born on March 17, 1920 in Tungipara village of Gopalganj district in a noble Muslim family. He is hailed as the father of the Nation. Actually, he was a great hero in the history of independence of Bangladesh. Only for him, we were able to gain our independence and got Bangladesh as a sovereign country.
মুজিববর্ষ বাংলাদেশের ইতিহাসে একটি স্মরণীয় বছর। বাংলাদেশ সরকার বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিবুর রহমানের জন্মশতবার্ষিকী উদযাপনের জন্য ১৭ মার্চ, ২০২০ থেকে ১৭ মার্চ, ২০২১ পর্যন্ত সময়কে মুজিববর্ষ হিসেবে ঘোষণা করেন। এই সময়কে মুজিববর্ষ হিসেবে ঘোষণা করার মূল কারণ হল বাংলাদেশের স্বাধীনতার প্রেক্ষাপট তরুণ প্রজন্মের কাছে তুলে ধরা। বাংলাদেশের স্বাধীনতা যুদ্ধে এই মহান নেতা গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা পালন করেন। তিনি ১৯২০ সালের ১৭ মার্চ গোপালগঞ্জ জেলার টুঙ্গিপাড়া গ্রামে এক সম্ভ্রান্ত মুসলিম পরিবারে জন্মগ্রহণ করেন। তাকে জাতির পিতা হিসেবে ভূষিত করা হয়। প্রকৃতপক্ষে, বাংলাদেশের স্বাধীনতার ইতিহাসে তিনি ছিলেন এক মহানায়ক। একমাত্র তার জন্যই আমরা আমাদের স্বাধীনতা অর্জন করতে পেরেছি এবং একটি সার্বভৌম দেশ হিসেবে বাংলাদেশ পেয়েছি।
Not only this, but because of him, we had been freed from the oppression of foreign domination and evil forces. Therefore, the birth centenary of this great leader is an occasion of indescribable joy for the Bengali nation. And for this, the biography of Bangabandhu and the history of Bangladesh were presented to the new generation through various programs during the Mujib Borsho. UNESCO, a sub organization of the United Nations, joined the celebration of this Mujib Borsho. After all, the importance of Bangabandhu's birth centenary in the national life of Bengalis is immense. Therefore, the year 2020-2021 will be immortalized forever in the life of the Bengali nation as Mujib Borsho.
শুধু তাই নয়, তাঁর কারণেই আমরা বিদেশি আধিপত্য ও অপশক্তির অত্যাচার থেকে মুক্তি পেয়েছি। তাই এই মহান নেতার জন্মশতবার্ষিকী বাঙালি জাতির জন্য এক অবর্ণনীয় আনন্দের উপলক্ষ। আর এ জন্য, মুজিববর্ষে বিভিন্ন কর্মসূচির মাধ্যমে বঙ্গবন্ধুর জীবনী ও বাংলাদেশের ইতিহাস নতুন প্রজন্মের কাছে তুলে ধরা হয়। এই মুজিববর্ষ উদযাপনে যোগ দেয় জাতিসংঘের অঙ্গ-সংগঠন ইউনেস্কো। সর্বোপরি, বাঙালির জাতীয় জীবনে বঙ্গবন্ধুর জন্মশতবর্ষের গুরুত্ব অপরিসীম। তাই ২০২০-২০২১ সাল মুজিববর্ষ হিসেবে বাঙালি জাতির জীবনে চির অমর হয়ে থাকবে।
